so good. but too good.

back from a trip out to Geylang. with the Mom.
wanted to see the new temporary look. and to also search for the delicious mee siam we last tasted on one of the many recent trips to the O.E house. went arnd all the stalls, scrutinising the different mee siams and the gravy, if its the same reddish- orangey kind. finally decided on this stall's that vaguely look like that other delicious kind. so bought a packet home, but in my heart, i doubt we got the right one. will taste it later.

anw,
the new place is orait i guess. cleaner definitely. but the atmosphere is just different la. not as chaotic, in that good fun and friendly way. more modernised but nothing very special abt the place, in that nostalgic way very evident in the old Geylang Serai. and its nearer to Paya Lebar MRT instead of Eunos.

also,
was all pink today, which is so not me. what with the hot pink ( but a fav, coz its soo smooth and soft ! haha ) baju kurung ( yes, i wore a baju kurung even tho its not Hari Raya and we're not attending a wedding ) but i thot what ther heck. and i had fun. haha. i mean, i know it shldnt be such an issue but you just cant help feeling kinda out of place with the traditional wear when its not a festive occasion. and pple just look at you more, making you feel even more awkward. and Sporeans really LOVE to stare. sheesh. but hey, it is my traditional costume and heck, was proud to don it :)

and Mom nearly always wears it out. as well as all the other makciks out there. but see. thats where its an issue. the young dont always wear it. heh. oh wells.

on another pt,
yesterday's ceremony went fine, alhamdulillah. and i ate so much ! coz there was just SO much food. see, we prepared some, of course and those who came of course didnt want to come empty- handed, so there. yes, it was a solemn affair during the prayers part but after that, it was merry and gay, full of laughters around. i mean, it was also a time for the different families to just bond further. and i had fun :)

somehow, i felt that the passing of one will often bring the living closer together, to just appreciate one another better. coz without such reminders that life is only temporary, we forget and take things for granted.

so ive missed Suria's teen show, Teman Anugerahku for two weeks running as well as American Idol: The (first) Spectaculars, last night. but i thought, haiyah, these things. are really small matters which we often make big of.

then again, thank gawd for repeats of Idol every Sunday evenings at 5 ! haha ;]
still cant miss out on the lil neat details of my life, which is the beloved black box. coz im sucha TV freak at heart ! =) and who says you should forsake what has been moving you along ? not that TV is the only thing that does. heh.

coz in mourning, some tend to take it so hard that they forget those who are still around. and the things that they used to enjoy doing. and that actually damages more.

Life's short.
So if you dont look around once in a while, you might just miss it.

. . . and i looked around.
and this is totally on another note, but. why do i always have to fall for those not meant for me ?
so good. but i think too good, for me.
