if only.

these two posters kind of reflect each other, as pointed out by Ong Sor Fern, the film critic for ST ( life! Feb 15). and dont you think so ? when she mentioned it, i was like, ohyah ah! they are rather similar, in the way the leads are not looking at each other, or directly at the camera in fact, as well as how they're positioned. for eg, Heath is in Kate's position and maybe coincidentally, or not, in quite the similar pose whereas Jake is in Leonardo's place.

i dont know if it means anything, the poster and everything, but a poster is the first selling/ promotion thing of a movie so it gotta be impactful and meaningful. and i think both the movies did good with their posters.

to me, both Heath and Kate are deliberately positioned in that way with almost the same grim look, as they play the "receivers" of their respective relationships, feeling reluctant and unsure coz its something totally different from what they're used to. yet, they're wanting more. so they have that 'pondering' look, as though thinking if they should bring it to the next level, coz they're actually the ones in power. and both Jake and Leonardo would only be willing to, as they play the "givers", generous and earnest in what they have to offer- their love and affection.

also, the leads are positioned with a mountain as a backdrop or at the ship's bow, the way the love stories took place in the wilderness of the Brokeback Mountain or on a ship respectively. its like everything's so in place, its perfect.

personally, i just adore pics where the subjects are not looking directly at the camera. yet, the way they are positioned and the context of the picture itself still manage to tell so much.

and there've been so many great reviews abt Brokeback. from Ong, who is such a critic, to that other guy Tay Yek Keak who is usually SO sarcastic. 8DAYS, TODAY and a thousand other reviews on e Net. but what a pity ! ! damnnns.

so much has been said abt V- Day and all that, considering that this very "special" day just passed us a few days ago. but even with all that talk and action to prove your love, is anyone any closer to understanding the very basic meaning of love ? and can they ever ?

i dont know. and i dont know if i will.
sadly enough, our life is full of regrets. for words unsaid, actions not taken.
and sometimes we think we really could get that dream and yet, we're just so very near, yet so far. separated by mere things uncleared.

so go with your heart and just do what your heart tells you to.
coz often, we regret over what we didnt do. not of what we did. i myself certainly have many "i wish" and "if onlys" but whats the point now ? time has already passed me by. at best, i can only settle for what might have been. but even thats not good enough.
