You can erase someone from your mind.
Getting them out of your heart is another story.
- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
another one i want to watch.
Emmys was on this morning. LOST got the top honours ( Drama ) and Felicity Huffman was the chosen one over ( expected )Teri Hatcher for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. which is totally fine with me . . i like !
but the top honours ( Comedy ) still went to Everybody Loves Raymond. guess DH can grab it next time round then, since E.L.R wont be contending nemore.
nonetheless, yaay for LOST !
: )
last night was spent . . uhm, spiritually. we attended this, dont know if i can actually call it a ceremony, but basically a get together for this special day ( Nisfu Sya'ban ) of this Muslim month ( Sya'ban ) at Masjid Petempatan Melayu Sembawang. it was just great how we can all come together and be at one towards the same goal, which is to seek God's forgiveness and blessings. it was afterall a night where all our wishes/ requests will be granted.
reached there around 4 plus. we had to take the bus provided coz no public bus actually goes all the way in to this mosque. its like situated really deep into the forest, near the Sembawang Park. one wouldnt actually think there was a mosque somewhere inside there. but there was. and its actually real pretty. its small, thats for sure, unlike its other more modern- looking counterparts i.e bigger and grander.
its actually quaint- looking. i mean, its really kampong- like. and those who know me, will know that i have this liking for kampong environments, hah. esp when my family dont have a kampong house. i would envy those who do have, and have the chance to escape to a quiet and serene getaway during the hols. but not all of them like it there either, heh.
so this mosque. it was nice, somehow, in its own way. especially when its surroundings are not what we're usually used to. no high- rise buildings. no noisy busy traffic. no smoky dusty roads. only the nature and the skies and birds chirping in the trees. hah. cliche huh. but the organising committee did a wonderful job too, decorating the area with colourful bunga manggas, lampu lap- lips, and streamers of all colours, to help indicate those who drove there that that's the mosque. it was, i dont know, straight out of some Hansel & Gretel adventures or something. it was just preeety la. hee.
the ladies had to sit under the tents already set up, coz there were too many of us to be squeezed inside the mosque's area. which is already not very big either. just enough for the men. and we were told that there were about 5000 pple who attended. so it was good that there was enough land around the mosque.
the whole thing ended at 1030. and since no bus could actually come in all the way, we had to walk out. and though our legs were all cramped, after sitting on the floor for like what, 5 hours? the walk was nonetheless enjoyable. its like the air was filled with a sense of camaraderie, a sense of togetherness.
reached home at almost 12. had supper. finished up the lemangs and rendangs that were given. they were delicious. esp when we usually only get to eat lemangs for Hari Raya. i mean, we can go and buy it anytime we want to la. but they are just some of those 'specially reserved' dishes, where they taste xtra tasty when eaten during special occassions like Hari Raya.
a beautiful night.
will probably be going JB again this Wed. to send over those cloths to the tailor's. heeh. awal2 lagik dah hantar eh. belum pun start puasa. but mom said we're already actually quite late. previous years, we would have already sent the cloths to the tailor's by July. i of coz didnt know that. yelar, tau pakai jek kan.
so Sat was spent cloth- hunting at Geylang. picked out three different sets for the three of us, all of about the same pattern, only a different colour. mom got a sweet light shade of grey, while sis got a pretty light shade of purple. and me? heh. greeen la of coz. haha. told ya im so in lurrrrve with green now. yeah. we're all going for light colours this year round.
the mood was already there, with the banners already set up and the tents for the bazaar halfway ready. and the fasting month has not even begun. but i somehow dont feel as excited for Raya this year round. maybe its still too early for me to say. or maybe it was coz the sun was too hot that day. and maybe i'll feel the hype more as the 3rd of November comes along. later.
am still waiting for the call. my handphone's right here by the computer. am still waiting. and have been waiting.
but i have a nagging feeling i should stop hoping. and waiting.
doesnt really matter i guess.
anwyays.
watched Finding Neverland again just now after the Emmys, for the third time already. and i still cried ! haha. cant bliv i waited this long to watch it. but still better late than never.
sometimes its sad how we are of one people, yet going in the opposite direction, toward different goals.
