Be With Me

The original poster depicted a scene from the movie with two teenage girls (played by Samantha Tan and Ezann Lee) lying and embracing each other on some steps. It has since been replaced with an image of a man necking Tan. (as above)
and his answer to that:
"Have you seen the original poster? Have a look at it. When you do, you'll go: 'Huh? Are they going to ban that'?"
mine:
totally agreed.
to quote un-quote:
Eric Khoo said: "I think with every work that I make, I want the Singaporean public to see it in its entirety. And I'm just so happy that it's going to get released. I like it to be embraced deep down. I think as long as people are willing to give it a chance, though it's almost like a silent film, and bear with the silence and try to get into it, hopefully they'll be moved and touched by it."
mine:
its indeed a very silent movie, as compared to what we're all used to, loud noises and big action kind of thing. but like he said, if you would just allow yourself to be taken into e stories [ 3 of them ] despite e quietness, you'll be touched and deeply moved.
and i was.
and i think i scared the hell out of e girl next to me. i mean, i wasnt like bawling or whatt la. but just getting a wee bit emotional. haha.
its a movie about love, loss and life. and the sheer simplicity of the movie was e crucial factor in relaying the message that hey, sometimes you dont need to say so much to get your message across. sometimes its enough that you feel it, that you understand it.
coz hasnt it happened that no matter how hard you try to explain sth in words to someone, he/ she still just does not get it ?? and yet, there are other times when you can just connect with that someone, without either of you having to say much.
. . .
and of coz, the backbone of the movie is the amazing lifestory of Theresa Chan, who is both blind and deaf, and yet able to give so much with her sheer determination and zest for life. its pple like her who shake us out of our own stupor, with our own cries of self- pity and petty rantings at the littlest things.
and as you guys would already know from reviews about the movie, it revolves around 3 stories, depicting love in the 3 different stages of our lives. from puppy angsty love, to mid- life yearning for something we cant have, and to the old- age understanding of love itself.
i of coz could relate most to the first la. as would all of us. and its sad how some pple can take fragile matters like the heart, so lightly. and still have the audacity to play with it.
. . .
its hard for me to put feelings into words. you just got to see this for yourself to have your own reflections on life, love and loss. i think if i try to explain more with words, i might just do it more injustice instead. so go watch it, feel it, understand it, and bring home something precious for yourself.
Be with me, my dearest love.
That my smile may never fade.
