what true love really is.
A Daddy's Love- and Loss
"Meanwhile, someone else is lying in her crib, her playpen, her bed, someone else wears her clothes, gums at her tedy bear, flips through her picture book. His name is Frederik and he is someone else, he is so different, so new to us, every day we can hardly believe he really exists. We are so happy with him, and that, too, we can hardly believe.
Because happiness reminds us so much of her, that is why you miss it(her) most precisely when it(happiness) is around."
- P.F THOMESE
Got the above from ST's 21st June... about the writer who lost his first child and daughter but was gifted with another child, this time a son. prior to his daughter, he was your typical family- commitmentphobe guy, who thinks of marriage as some kind of prison without any freedom. He didnt think about settling down and all... but when he did, and witnessed too the birth of his little daughter, he realised what he had been missing out on, all his life.
But his happiness was shortlived, as their little girl left them after just 47 days. Isa was her name. But another angel came down to provide them with the happiness, which they thought had long gone by.
Frederik became the light of their lives and they couldnt believe the generosity the heavens above bestowed unto them. And it is in this happiness that he feels, that he is reminded so much of his little girl because she was the reason he knew what happiness was all about, in the first place.
A child's life, no matter how brief, animates those of her parents. It is a constant reminder of the true meaning of love.
